Energy efficiency measures totaling 411,213.50 euros, invested by the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund in the Municipality building and the “Hamdi Berisha” school in Malisheva, were inaugurated in the presence of the Managing Director, Mr. Ahmet Ismaili, the Mayor of Malisheva Municipality, Mr. Ekrem Kastrati, the Deputy Head of Cooperation at the EU Office, Mr. Alessandro Bianciardi, the Deputy Minister of Economy, Mr. Getoar Mjeku, Rhedon Begolli – Senior Energy Specialist at the World Bank, and other representatives of our partners.
The energy efficiency measures that have been implemented include the replacement of old windows and doors with new efficient ones, replacement of inefficient light fixtures with LED lights, installation of a new heating network and a pellet boiler at the “Hamdi Berisha” school. Additionally, a central heating system was installed in the Municipality building.
It is estimated that these investments in the Municipality building will result in energy savings of around 55%, with 91 people directly benefiting from these investments. While at “Hamdi Berisha” School, there will be an energy saving of around 57%, with 1,619 students and staff of this school expected to be the direct beneficiaries.
