  • EU supports energy efficiency in Kosovo with € 9.4 million, by creating jobs to reduce the negative impact of the COVID-19 virus on the economy

The agreement for a grant of 9.4 million euros from IPA 2017 was signed yesterday by the EU and the Government of Kosovo, with the World Bank as the trusted administrator. The project implementation will begin once the situation with the COVID-19 virus outbreak is resolved, and it will contribute to reducing its negative impact on the economy.

This grant will be used by the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund as capital for funding the implementation of energy efficiency measures in municipal public infrastructure, particularly in schools, healthcare centers, hospitals, etc. Additionally, this funding will generate job opportunities in the construction sector.
