The Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund (KEEF) is pleased to announce that the evaluation process for applications received in the public call “Implementation of Energy Efficiency Measures for Individual Residential Buildings” has been finalized.
Between August 8 and August 20, 2023, KEEF received 3,321 applications through the e-Kosova platform. After review by the evaluation committee, 2,150 applicants have been pre-approved for the implementation of energy efficiency measures. These applicants have received a “Pre-Approval Letter” and a VAT exemption certificate for the purchase of materials and completion of work in their houses. The municipalities with the highest number of beneficiaries are: Prishtina, Podujeva, Peja, Ferizaj and Vushtrri.
Out of the total number of applications, 161 have been cancelled, of which 142 did not meet the criteria of the public call and 19 applicants withdrew their applications. Additionally, 1,010 applications without an auditor’s report will be considered if there is budget available after completing the entire process with applications that do have an auditor’s report. Applicants have been notified via automated emails received from e-Kosova.
Currently, KEEF has received approximately 700 applications for the disbursement of subsidized amounts from citizens who have completed the works. These applications are currently being verified by 8 companies hired by KEEF. The first disbursement agreements have been signed by the first beneficiaries who submitted complete documentation and passed verification.
A donation of 10 million euros for this project has been made possible by the European Union through the Government of the Republic of Kosovo as part of the energy support package. Beneficiaries will receive subsidies of up to 45% of the investment amount, and up to 50% for female property owners or properties jointly owned by spouses, not exceeding the maximum amount of 5,500 euros for the implementation of energy efficiency measures. These measures include thermal insulation of external walls, thermal insulation of the roof, and replacement of external windows and doors.
Beneficiaries were selected based on the criteria outlined in the public call, including the requirement for habitable houses, electricity consumption of at least 250 kWh per month in 21 out of the last 24 months, and meeting technical and thermal insulation requirements.
KEEF is committed to continuously enabling the implementation of such projects, contributing to the well-being of citizens, energy saving, and environmental preservation.
