On Monday (August 7, 2023), the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund launched the “Implementation of Energy Efficiency Measures for Individual Residential Houses” project. With a budget of 10 million euros, citizens will receive subsidies of up to 45% for implementing efficiency measures such as thermal insulation of external walls and roofs, as well as the replacement of doors and windows.
Nora Arifi, a Board Member of KEEF, informed those present that there will be an additional 5% bonus, increasing the subsidy to 50% for properties jointly owned by spouses or owned by women. Arifi expressed gratitude to the European Union for funding the project through the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, as well as to the Ministry of Economy for their ongoing support.
The Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, expressed her joy at the start of a project that will reduce energy bills for citizens.
The European Union Office representative, Alessandro Bianciardi, highlighted their ongoing dedication to supporting Kosovo on its journey towards sustainable and clean energy.
The conditions for applying include having a habitable house for 21 out of the last 24 months, a minimum electricity consumption of 250 kWh per month, and a lack of thermal insulation or partial insulation in the house.
The maximum subsidy amount is 5,500 euros.
Applications can be submitted through the e-Kosova platform starting from August 8, 2023.
