Kosovo municipalities can now apply for grants for energy efficiency in social housing.
We are pleased to announce before the mayors, and in the presence of Prime Minister Mr. Kurti, Ministers Ms. Rizvanolli, Mr. Murati, Mr. Krasniqi, and the representative of the EU office in Kosovo Mr. Bianchiardi, that the Managing Director of KEEF Mr. Ismaili presented the energy efficiency measures for the Emergency Project implementation. This project aims to improve energy savings and enhance the well-being of citizens in multi-apartment social buildings owned by municipalities in Kosovo.
It is part of the Energy Emergency Package, funded by the EU under the IPA program, coordinated by the GRK, which has also approved the Action Plan. According to Measure 3, the responsibility for its implementation is delegated to KEEF.
The measures for multi-apartment buildings (social housing) will be implemented in cooperation with the Municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo through a co-funding model. KEEF will contribute 90% of the investment (non-refundable funds), while the Municipalities will only contribute 10% of the investment value. This is the first time a local institution is implementing such measures in the residential sector in Kosovo.
At the meeting organized for this specific purpose, the Public Call for Applications from the Municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo was officially launched.
We would like to express our gratitude to the EU and the Government of the Republic of Kosovo for their efforts in implementing this project. Additionally, we welcome the cooperation of the municipalities in the implementation of the project in achieving the common objectives at the national level.
All interested municipalities are invited to submit their applications in accordance with the Public Call provided in the link below, which will be open until April 17, 2023.
